Scarless Rhinoplasty Los Angeles surgeon specializing in closed-scarless procedures. While Dr. Kanodia is highly skilled in relation to a wide spectrum of plastic surgery procedures, he has earned particular distinction for his nose job expertise. Dr. Kanodia utilizes a Closed Scarless Rhinoplasty technique, in which all incisions are made inside the nose. This is extremely important because, unlike with an ‘open’ approach, there is no risk of visible scarring. Dr. Kanodia has been performing Closed Rhinoplasty for the past 39+ years and has performed over 10,000 Closed Rhinoplasties to date. 100% of Dr. Kanodia’s surgical practice is devoted to Closed Nose Jobs. Dr. Kanodia performs around 300 Closed Rhinoplasties each year.
The Scarless Nose Job. Rhinoplasty Los Angeles
Dr. Kanodia points out that in approximately 30% of the nose job surgeries he performs, there’s no need to break bones. In addition to refining the nose’s aesthetic appearance, a side benefit of this procedure is improved nasal airways. Patients will not only be able to breathe better through their nose, but they can look forward to increased endurance and higher energy levels, as well as a heightened sense of both smell and taste.
The Art of Scarless Rhinoplasty
Finesse, Scarless Rhinoplasty Los Angeles surgery, with an artistic attention to the preservation of the attractive original characters, is the key component of how Dr. Kanodia envisions and performs all of his nose surgeries, for the last 39 years. To deliver the best natural outcome, obsession and passion for perfection is a key component.
The nose is the center of the human face and any refinement (alteration) must be executed with the utmost subtlety and artistry. A successful finesse sculpting rhinoplasty is a marriage between the face and the nose, so the face is perceived as more attractive to the lens of the camera and to the human eye. Keeping the nose natural, without any appearance of pinching, ski slope, and turned up is Dr. Kanodia’s guiding principle.
Most patients like their noses and they are just seeking a subtle improvement of what seems to them as not in harmony with the rest of the nose and/or the face. Many of the patients like their noses in frontal view but think the bump or excess projection, distracts from the beauty. By preserving the beautiful tip definition and not inflicting and surgical alteration is of utmost importance. Our finesse sculpting rhinoplasty Los Angeles facilities will make your procedure extremely comfortable.
Dr. Kanodia is sought after by Royalty, Celebrities, Actresses, Models, and other public figures because of his finesse and scarless approach to the nose. While most surgeons perform open nose jobs (leaving a permanent scar at the base of the nose). Not only inflicting permanent and often visible scars at the bottom of the nose. The open approach also employs a reconstructive mentality which often results in a drastically altered nose.
Closed Nose Job is the only surgery Dr. Kanodia performs. Having performed over 10,000 Scarless Rhinoplasty Los Angeles surgeries over the last 39 years, Dr. Kanodia has found that most patients desire refinement over drastic changes to their noses. Our rhinoplasty Los Angeles center specializes in subtle yet refined changes. Contact our office today for a nose job consultation.
Rhinoplasty Los Angeles For Breathing – How A Nose Job Can Help
Dr. Kanodia also performs functional nasal procedures that are designed specifically to correct breathing difficulties. This type of surgery does not necessitate the breaking of bones – there’s no bruising or need for bandages – and patients can return to their normal activities within three to five days. Dr. Kanodia works closely with nose job patients, ensuring that refinements not only look natural but that they match the individual’s other facial features and personality. He notes it is a relatively painless, one-to-two-hour procedure, that’s performed on an outpatient basis in his state-licensed and certified facility.
Patients are generally able to resume most of their routines about seven days after rhinoplasty.
The nose is the center of the human face, and the feature perhaps most closely associated with what we call “character.” Alteration of its shape must always be handled with great care, subtlety, and artistry, for no form of cosmetic surgery will so influence the way a face is perceived.
Scarless Rhinoplasty Los Angeles
Along with the eyes and mouth, the nose forms a constellation of characters. Over 30 years of practice in rhinoplasty Los Angeles, Dr. Kanodia has always emphasized to his patients in consultation that the nose has to fit the face in order to achieve a natural balance. Most noses have attractive features which should be identified and left untouched.
Once this is done, the task becomes one of refinement and finesse, of finding the aspects of balance that wait in potential or to use the analogy of sculpture, that have not yet emerged from the stone.
- Projection of the bridge
- Width of the nasal bones
- Straightening of the nasal bones
- Tip definition and nasolabial angle (i.e. the length of the nose)
Subtle and artistic enhancement in 1,2,3 or all 4 areas mentioned fine-tunes the nose without changing its character. There are patients who need only tip refinement, and this can be accomplished by sculpting the tip cartilage. See our videos on Youtube.
100% of Dr. Kanodia’s surgical practice is dedicated to Rhinoplasty and 100% of their rhinoplasty practice is dedicated to CLOSED Rhinoplasty (Scarless Nose Job).

Surgeries are performed in our state of the art Rhinoplasty Los Angeles, Medicare approved Ambulatory Surgery Center with 2 Operating Rooms. This was one of the first ambulatory surgery centers in Beverly Hills and was designed and built by Dr. Kanodia himself with his patient’s safety in mind. We wanted to have our office attached to our surgery center to give the comfort of a private center to our patients, in order to avoid the hassle and inconvenience of a major hospital. This allows complete privacy for our patients with the highest standard of care. We have an entire Cardiology Department within our building as an added security measure for our patients.
The average Scarless Rhinoplasty takes between 1-2 hours for operating time, but you will be at our rhinoplasty los angeles facility for about 4 hours in total time. All patients are then discharged safely to their home, a local hotel or aftercare facility. Please see our “out of town” patient page for information on hotels and aftercare facilities.
We use General Anesthesia. Our Anesthetist has performed Anesthesia for over 8,000 Scarless Rhinoplasty patients over the last 30 years. We provide a very slow, titrated anesthesia for our patients that is tailored to your weight and body needs. We opt for General Anesthesia because it allows the safest situation for our patients and allows us to concentrate 100% on the surgery itself.
Yes. All patients must do required blood work. This can be performed locally in Los Angeles or in your hometown. If you are over age 40, additional tests may be required depending on your medical case (including Chest X-rays, Electrocardiograms, etc). In addition, if you have any significant medical history, we will require medical clearance from your medical doctor. This is all based on an individual patient basis.
There are 3 stages of recovery: Stage 1 (Day 1-7): On postoperative day 7, the cast is removed and you may resume normal social activities. Most of our patients are able to go out for dinner that evening, and no one knows they had anything done. Because we do a closed scarless rhinoplasty approach (no external cuts), the healing process is much quicker and our patients get less bruising and swelling. Approximately 60% of our patients have NO bruising at all and 30% have very mild bruising that leaves them by day 7 (the day the cast comes off).
Stage 2 (Day 7-42): It takes approximately 6 weeks for the bones to completely heal. For the first 6 weeks following surgery, you will have to limit any significant impact-driven activity (such as running, jogging) or any activies requiring forward head bending (certain yoga poses). You may participate in light walking, light cycling, light elliptical exercise, etc. But for 6 weeks, you must avoid any sheering or traumatic impact activities as the impact can travel to the nasal bones.
Stage 3 (up to 1-3 years): Continued molding and refinement occurs over the next 1-3 years. In general, the skin over the nasal bones is thinner, and final molding is complete after 1 year. For the skin over the nasal tip, it is much thicker and healing and molding occurs slowly over time. Generally the skin over the tip heals 60% by end the year 1, 80% by end of year 2, and 100% by end of year 3. This very slow molding process allows for small subtle changes that go unnoticed. Since we are only shaving the bone and cartilage, and NOT cutting any skin, it takes time for the skin to mold to the new smaller framework below.
Rhinoplasty is classically thought to be a procedure for cosmetics only. But in reality Rhinoplasty should be a functional surgery as well ALWAYS. Dr. Kanodia understands the anatomy of the nasal cavity, the tubinates, the septum and the internal nasal valves extremely well.
These all play a function in the ability to “breathe better” from your nose. There are multiple procedures we perform in CONJUNCTION with your rhinoplasty, when appropriate:
- Septoplasty – The septum is the wall that divides the inside of the nose into a left and right side. Normally it should be completely straight or have a slight bend to one side or the other. A deviated septum will lean markedly to one side or the other, or can have a break in it which causes a “spur” which can block one or both sides of the nose. During your rhinoplasty consultation, we always diagnose if you have a deviated septum. If you do, we will always add this component to your surgery. Septoplasty repair is performed through internal cuts only (NO external cuts) and we remove obstructed portions of the septum and straighten any bending areas to give you a completely straight septum to help you breathe better.
- Inferior Turbinate Reduction – The inferior turbinates are finger like structures on the inside of your nose. They are bone on the inside, covered with soft tissue, with an outside mucosal lining. The purpose of the turbinates is to warm, humidify and moisten the air we breathe. In dry climates, or with allergies, the tubinates can swell abnormally and cause nasal obstruction as well.
- We will diagnose inferior turbinate hypertrophy (enlargement of the turbinates) at your initial rhinoplasty consultation. If we determine your inferior turbinates are causing obstruction we perform an Inferior Turbinate Reduction during your surgery as well. This is performed through internal cuts only (NO external cuts) and we shrink down the size of the turbinates to give you more room for nasal breathing.
- Spreader Grafts to repair the Internal Nasal Valve – The internal nasal valve is an area bounded by the septum, inferior turbinate and upper lateral cartilage. This area contributes to the greatest sensation of good nasal breathing when it is patent. When it is obstructed patients will feel a sense of nasal congestion or obstruction. We will routinely perform a Cottle maneuver or a modified Cottle maneuver during your rhinoplasty consultation to assess the patency of your internal nasal valve.
- If it is found that your internal nasal valve is weak, we will use pieces of your native cartilage from the septum (usually harvested during the septoplasty portion of the procedure) and stitch these into place with an endonasal spreader graft technique that was created by Dr. Kanodia and Dr. Jack Sheen during their time together in the 1980′s Rhinoplasty world of Beverly Hills, CA. This is performed through internal cuts only (NO external cuts) and we increase the patency of the internal nasal valve so you can breathe better from your nose without obstruction.
