How it works
Four steps, wherever you live.
01
Consultation
Start in person or online. Dr. Kanodia reviews your photographs and goals and tells you plainly whether closed rhinoplasty fits.
02
Plan
You get a clear answer on candidacy, the fee, and available dates. Out-of-town patients have the pre-op and follow-up visits scheduled around travel.
03
Surgery
Performed by Dr. Kanodia in his accredited facility on Camden Drive, under general anesthesia. Operating time averages one to two hours. You go home the same day.
04
Follow-up
The cast comes off on day seven. Out-of-town patients stay through cast removal; later check-ins can be virtual.
The technique
Closed and open rhinoplasty are different operations.
Both reshape the bone and cartilage of the nose. They differ in how the surgeon reaches it, and in what the patient is left with on the outside.
Closed
- All incisions inside the nostrils
- No cut across the columella, so no external scar
- Less disturbance of the skin and soft tissue, which usually means less swelling
- Done largely by feel and experience, so fewer surgeons offer it
- The only approach Dr. Kanodia uses
Open
- An external incision across the columella, the skin between the nostrils
- The skin is lifted for a direct view of the framework
- A small external scar that usually fades over time
- The approach most surgeons train in and use
- Often needed for revisions, which is why this practice does not take them

Questions
What patients ask before they book
No. Dr. Kanodia performs closed rhinoplasty only, so every incision is made inside the nose. There is no cut across the columella, the strip of skin between the nostrils, and no visible scar.
No. The practice takes primary rhinoplasty only and does not accept revision or reconstructive cases. Most revisions call for an open approach, which this practice does not use.
The cast comes off on day seven, and most patients are back to normal social activity that evening. Because there are no external incisions, bruising and swelling are reduced. Residual swelling continues to settle over the following months.
The fee is set at consultation, once Dr. Kanodia has reviewed your photographs and the plan for your nose. The practice will tell you exactly what is included before you book anything.
Yes. Submit the form on this page and the practice will send instructions for an online consultation. Most out-of-town patients start this way.
Plan to be here for the pre-operative visit, the surgery, and the cast removal about a week later. The practice has an established out-of-town patient program and will map the dates with you. Later check-ins can be done virtually.
