How does the fractional skin resurfacing work?
An array of radio frequency energy is precisely directed to tiny matrix spots. The healthy skin around the spots accelerates the healing process of the skin. Post treatment, increased levels of beneficial collagen and new healthy skin cells are produced. Mild to moderate wrinkles and superficial skin discoloration are reduced, and skin texture becomes more smooth and elastic.
How many treatments are required?
Most patients will require 2-3 sessions.
How often are treatments done?
Treatment sessions are typically 4-6 weeks apart.
How long does a treatment take?
Each treatment session takes approximately 1 hour.
Does the treatment hurt?
The sensation is often described as a hot pinch, or snapping feeling. The sensation only lasts for a fraction of a second, and you may feel warmth or a tingling sensation for a short time afterward.Topical anesthetic is applied topically for 30 minutes before each session to help decrease pain sensation.
What will my skin look like after the procedure has been done?
There are 3 different programs available depending on the amount of downtime you have:
- Program A: Low Downtime (1 Day)-mild pinkness and flaking
- Program B: Medium Downtime(2-3 Days)-2 days of redness (like a mild sunburn), moderate flaking on day 3 & 4.
- Program C: High Downtime (3-6 Days)- 3-4 Days of redness (like a moderate sunburn), Peeling on day 4 thru 6.
Are there any risks to treatment?
ANY medical laser procedure has risks of side effects such as superficial blistering, crusting, and pigmentary changes in the skin. These risks are rare and usually quickly resolve. The Matrix RF incorporates several technological advances that focus on patient saftey to minimize these risks and provide greater satisfaction. The laser handpiece is also cooled for skin protection and comfort during the procedure.
